Written and directed by Martin McDonagh (In Bruges), and nominated for 7 Oscars including best picture, actress and original screenplay, this very black comedy/drama tells the story of aggrieved mother Mildred (Frances McDormand – Fargo), who seeks answers to the stalled investigation of her daughter’s murder, and the repercussions of her actions on her small town.  An emotional rollercoaster of a film.
